"Into your hands, Father of mercies, we commend our loved ones, in the sure and certain hope that, together with all who have died in Christ, they will rise with Him on the last day."
The Catholic community of St. Anthony Parish extends its prayers and condolences on the loss of your loved one. We know that making the necessary arrangements to plan a funeral Mass can place a great burden on the grieving family, and so, in hope of helping to ease that burden, we offer here the readings amd music selections which have been deemed appropriate for Catholic funerals. The celebration of the funeral Mass reminds us of God's mercy as we offer praise and thanksgiving for the gift of life which is now being returned to our Lord.
Typically, a member of St. Anthony Parish staff will contact your family after you have made your arrangements with a funeral home. At that time we will make an appointment for a time that suits you, to come to the rectory office where we will assist you in planning the Funeral Mass. There, you may look over and select the readings, as well as choose the music from an approved list. To prepare for the meeting, you can click on the links below to review choices beforehand. Please choose one reading from the Old Testament AND one from the New Testament. You can then print these out and bring them with you to the meeting. Be sure to click on "enable editing" at the top, then highlight your choice and click "selection" to ensure printing out only that one page. You may also fill out the Music selection page by checking off your selections after you print it out.
